Yesterday, January 25th was the second anniversary of Giulio Regeni’s disappearance, torture and subsequent murder in Cairo.
Thousands of torches were simultaneously lit in 109 Italian cities at 7:41 p.m. — the last time when Regeni was seen alive — to symbolise that the public opinion will not give up the search for truth and justice.
People rallied in Rome in front of the Parliament (see picture below) to ask for justice for Giulio, for his family, for all the people who have disappeared in Egypt in the last few months and to ask for respect of human rights worldwide.
